Gearbox has showcased a 20 minute look at gameplay from the upcoming adventure spin-off New Tales From the Borderlands over the weekend.
The footage gives fans their best introduction yet to our three playable characters, who go by the names of Anuradha Dahr, Octavio Wallace Dahr and Fran Miscowicz.

New Tales From the Borderlands – release date
2K and Gearbox have officially unveiled the release date for New Tales From the Borderlands – a new standalone, choice-based interactive adventure game set in everyone’s favourite Borderlands universe.
It will officially launch on October 21st, 2022 – available in all major regions on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

2K and Gearbox will be rewarding pre order consumers with a bundle of bonuses ahead of the game’s official launch.
According to the official news report, the following items will be available for pre order users:
- Adventure Capital Pack (featuring cosmetics for Anu, Octavio, and Fran)
- 10,000 in-game currency
- In-game FL4K Valutlander collectible

There are two editions of the game up for grabs and pricing will vary depending on which edition you choose to purchase.
The Standard Edition (Digital Only) will retail for £34.99/$39.99, while the Deluxe Edition (Digital + Physical) will retail for £44.99/$49.99 – which also includes the Tales from the Borderlands original title.

New Tales from the Borderlands – will it be episodic?
The New Tales from the Borderlands will not be released episodically, like its predecessor. While the game will feature five episodes, they’ll all be available on the game from Day One, similar to Life is Strange: True Colors.
New Tales from the Borderlands – characters
Our three main characters we’ll follow in New Tales from the Borderlands are known colloquially as Anu, Octavio and Fran.
Anuradha Dahr is described as a problem solver, though she’s got poor social skills. She’s just trying to do some good without killing in the muder-happy world of the Borderlands, but she has some Tech Glasses to help her on the way.
Anu’s adoptive brother is Octavio Wallace Dahr. He’s Meridian City’s most popular citizen – at least, if you ask him. It helps he’s got a long list of contacts who can help in a pinch, but his business mind is yet to actually turn a profit.
Then there’s Fran Miscowicz. She runs a frogurt shop, or did until it was hit by a Maliwan laser. Now she’s setting out in her armed and dangerous hover chair to get her owed insurance payout and get some revenge in the process.
