According to this week’s edition of Japanese video games magazine Famitsu, an all-new Kirby game is in development for Nintendo DS.
Titled Atsumete! Kirby, which according to 1UP roughly translates to Gather Kirby, the new game is a side-scrolling action game with a gimmick: instead of inhaling enemies and copying their abilities, players control up to ten Kirbies at any one time.
Kirbies are directed around each stage by tapping the touch screen to lay down a star which the cuties walk toward – double tapping makes them run. Once they reach the star, they’ll latch on to it, making it possible to move the Kirbies more directly.
The game’s due out in Japan later this year.
