New DBD modes will add “antagonistic” and “comical” matches, such as 2v8

Dead By Daylight has had a lot of great modes and modifiers. This year we’ve had 2v8, we had the return of Lights Out, and we also recently had Chaos Shuffle. These LTMs and modifiers add a unique spice to the game for a limited-time, and the good news is that there will be more in the future. Specifics haven’t been shared, but some of these new DBD modes will be “antagonistic” while others will be more “comical”.

Per the October 2024 roadmap, fans have Haunted By Daylight to enjoy this week. This year’s Halloween event will have a bunch of limited-time rewards to unlock, and there will be more skin collections, too. Then in November we have the release of the Chapter 34 PTB for players on Steam before the episode comes out for everyone in December.

While this year’s final chapter is exciting, November will also see the return of 2v8 mode. This unique match-type has been one of the best additions to Dead By Daylight all year, and fans can expect more original modifiers and modes in the future.

Dead By Daylight will add more new modes

Dead By Daylight YouTuber, The King, has uploaded part two of their annual interview with DBD game director and head of partnerships at BeHaviour Interactive, Mathieu Cote.

It’s an hour long watch, and it’s worth digesting as there are many interesting topics discussed. The BeHaviour Interactive figure was regrettably reserved about some of the things they couldn’t answer such as future licenses and chapters, but they at least teased possibilities for the future.

In part one they teased that the “door is wide open” for a Friday the 13th chapter with Jason as a killer, and this time they have teased more unique modes and modifiers will be coming to Dead By Daylight in the future.

During the interview, Cote was asked, “Will we see combat-focused modes come into Dead By Daylight as modifiers,” and the developer responded: “Modes and new modifiers are super fun… more will be coming”.

Mathieu Cote elaborated, “Whether they’re combat-oriented or whatever else oriented… there will be more modes coming, more modifiers because those are super fun and people really get a kick out of them… some of them will be more antagonistic, and some of them will be more chaotic, and some of them will be more comical”.

Unfortunately, no specifics were shared, but at least we know more modes and modifiers are planned. As for the imminent future, Haunted By Daylight is set to start on October 17th, and then we have 2v8 returning on November 12th. Sadly, 2v8 is not becoming permanent as it will quickly leave on November 19th.
