New DBD killer possibly revealed in The Casting of Frank Stone

The best part of Dead By Daylight is the chapters that introduce new killers and survivors. These always differ between original and licensed, and there is a lot to anticipate for the remainder of year 9 as well as the beginning of year 10. While nothing is confirmed yet, fans believe a new DBD killer has possibly been confirmed through The Casting of Frank Stone.

The Dead By Daylight September 2024 roadmap includes the return of Lights Out along with upcoming skins, but arguably the biggest release is The Casting of Frank Stone. Dead By Daylight fans believe that The Casting of Frank Stone has potentially confirmed a new DBD killer. One last time, there are major story spoilers below, so do not continue if you are yet to complete the game and wish to finish the nightmare completely blind.

Following the completion of Supermassive Games’ newest cinematic experience, some of the Dead By Daylight community believe Frank Stone will be a killer. On the LeaksDBD subreddit, OP grantedtoast has shared a post titled, “Frank Stone Almost Certainly Confirmed the Next Killer“.

Avoiding spoilers, the OP vaguely says the new killer “Has a name in the DBD naming convention and has a plush collectible where the other plushies are for all killers”.

The replies elaborate on the OP’s vague stance. As emphasised in the replies, in the game Frank Stone is referred to as The Champion. Fans theorize this will be his name in DBD if he joins the killer roster as it aligns with the naming convention of other killers such as The Nurse, The Hillbilly, The Nightmare, The Pig, and The Clown.

In the story, fans have also pointed out the bad ending. One of the comments says, “If you kill everyone you get a few seconds of playing as Frank as he approaches the campfire. Then surrounding the campfire are our survivors. Dwight and Meg… Jake and Claud too… Which confirms he has crossed into our fog, in that ending at least”.

If Frank Stone does join as a killer, one user asked why BeHaviour gave his mask to The Trapper as a pre-order bonus. One fan explained, “Human Frank Stone only appears at the beginning, he later ditches the human form and becomes a spirit, and then becomes a full Killer with Entity mutations and so on. In this final form his head becomes one with his mask and has monstrous jaws too. It’d be easy to make his monster form a Killer”.

Another user further elaborated, “He lost the mask almost instantly and it falls into the fog. Entity probably hand-me-downed it to Trapper”.

Frank Stone becoming a new DBD killer is merely speculation from the community based on evidence provided by the game. However, although possible, other leaks suggest he won’t be the next killer. Leaked details suggest the next killer for Chapter 34 is a female bounty hunter, meanwhile, fans have guessed the licensed killer for March will be Kayako from The Grudge thanks to clues from a reputable leaker.
