Dead by Daylight has made huge changes to its Heads-Up Display, shifting the UI to make everything far more accessible for all players. Years after the game’s release, the latest DBD update allows players to track every activity in the game.

With the full DBD 8.4.0 patch notes detailing the new killer, The Houndmaster, huge improvements to the game have been hidden behind the title content. However, the new HUD changes could be a huge game changer for all DBD fans.

DBD HUD sees huge changes

As detailed in the game’s latest patch notes, Dead by Daylight 8.4.0 wisely adds new UI tracking for every activity. Survivor players can now track all activities on the, well, the Activity HUD.

Previously, Dead by Daylight players could only track Generators and Recovery activities while playing. However, this now means that other activities, such as hooks and tokens, can be tracked as you’re playing, giving you way more information about what’s been done and what needs to be done.

“A new activity was created to differentiate when a Survivor is Mending or Healing themselves… [and] to differentiate when a Survivor is Blessing a totem,” read the latest patch notes.

Furthermore, all Killer power interactions have been added to the activity HUD for better tracking.

Always improving

As a live-service game, Behaviour Interaction is constantly improving its asymetric horror multiplayer game. With massive HUD changes years after release, it’s proof that there’s always room to improve, and a willingness to do so. Since its release in 2018, Behaviour has made almost ten years of improvements to the game.
