Does NBA 2K23 have crossplay?
The answer is no. NBA 2K23 did not include crossplay into their latest game and fans will not be able to play with friends on different console generations.
Moreover, NBA 2K has yet to make any announcements clarifying whether crossplay will be added into the game at a later date.
The only sports games franchises that will introduce cross-platform play is that of FIFA 23 and NHL 23 for its Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT). This is good news for cross-platform play moving forward because more sports games will likely look to integrate it following the footsteps of both FIFA 23 and NHL 23.
Does NBA 2K23 offer cross-progression?
The one cross aspect that NBA 2K23 did incorporate into their new NBA game, is that of cross-progression and a synced VC wallet for their MyTEAM mode. What this means essentially is that fans can now maintain their progression and VC over two different consoles without having to start from scratch.
Be it your MyTEAM points, cards, tokens, or progress as a whole, you can now own two different consoles from the same family and have all your progress shared on both systems. This applies for your VC coin as well, which will remain the same across both consoles.
Keep in mind that this is only applicable to those that own a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 or a Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
