Sony-owned developer Naughty Dog has confirmed that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Creative Director, Neil Druckmann, has been promoted to Vice President of the company. Despite the new role, he’ll still be an integral part in the production of The Last of Us: Part II.
Speaking of which, the California-based outfit has named the two directors that will helm the post-apocalyptic horror sequel, with Anthony Newman and Kurt Margenau taking on the lofty role. Both previously served as lead game designers on 2016’s Nathan Drake-shaped swan song.
‘In recognition of his expanded role, contributing on critical, studio level decisions, Neil Druckmann is now Vice President of Naughty Dog,’ said the company. ‘He’s been a vital part of the management team for some time now, and we’re proud to formally acknowledge his involvement.’
Elsewhere, Naughty Dog revealed that Emilia Schatz and Richard Cambier are both serving key roles on The Last of Us: Part II as lead designers. Both have previously cut their teeth on major titles in the company’s lineup such as Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us.
The Last of Us: Part II is in development exclusively for PS4 and currently does not have a firm release date.
