MW2: UI Overhaul Coming Soon

Cal of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) has hit the ground running with one fiery start to their launch. The game has become wildly popular in just a matter of days and continues to surge with each passing day.

This is something you can comprehend firsthand in Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer. Say what you want about the gameplay and the new guns, MW2 did a standup job with their multiplayer experience as fans continue to get a better feel for the new maps and fun game modes it offers.

However, MW2 has been by no means perfect, at least so far that is. And a key reason why that is the case, is because of the user interface (UI) experience for its multiplayer mode. Getting into games and enjoying your time with your friends via parties, are essential aspects of any online play you participate in, and MW2 slipped up on that big time.

MW2: UI Overhaul Causes

If you’ve played MW2, you’ll notice rather quickly that the UI is just not great and for a variety of reasons. That said, some are bigger than others and have provided a much more unpleasant experience than others.

The first issue about the MW2 UI that has frustrated fans significantly, is the complexity of the menu set up. This is something you can get a taste of firsthand when creating your own parties with your friends. The layout is confusing and comes with an intricate menu that isn’t that straightforward.

The second downside of MW2’s poor UI and UX, is the fact that you can’t even vote for the maps you want to play on. This is really unheard of in Call of Duty and removes one of the most enjoyable aspects of playing multiplayer.

Moreover, the MW2 weapons menu needs a better design, particularly with the selection of different skins you can equip. MW2 provided a nice variety of choices. But how to pick the skins you want, more or less, review the options available, is quite the nuisance.

MW2: UI Overhaul Release

There is no official date or time for when the MW2 UI overhaul will release. In addition, there’s also no clarity if it will be released incrementally through a few different updates or via one big patch.

However, since the mounting frustration has reached a boiling point, fans can expect MW2 to release their UI update soon, be it prior to the launch of Warzone 2.0 (November 16th) or after.
