The latest one to do the rounds – not for the first time – is an error that causes you to timeout when signing in. You’ll be greeted with an error that reads ‘timed out while signing into online platform’.

Here’s how to fix it.

This error is usually caused when the servers are under stress or there is something wrong with your internet connection. Please follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Check your internet connection – sometimes there may be a download or programme going on in the background that is slowing your connection speed
  • Step 2: Wait a few minutes – If confronted by this message, wait a couple of minutes then hit ‘retry’ – this should resolve it
  • Step 3: Close the game, wait a couple of minutes, then launch it again – from our tests, this seems to resolve the issue more often than not

If you’re on PC and are greeted by this error message, close Steam (or whatever launcher you are using) and restart the game.

The above should fix this error but if you’re still having problems, you can check out Activision support right here.
