Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 gamers on PS4 are experiencing crashes in Infinity Ward’s latest game.

MW2 players have faced a number of issues during launch, including the ‘reset rank‘ error on PC, and the Vault Edition rewards not turning up. There have also been issues with Xbox and PC players not being able to disable crossplay.

Now, PS4 players are facing a bug that is causing the PS4 version of the Infinity Ward game to freeze during gameplay. The good news is that there is a fix for this, which we detail below.

MW2 Keeps Freezing How To Fix

It’s likely there are a number of graphics settings that could be to blame here – in particular ‘On Demand Texture’ streaming. This essentially allows players to stream higher resolution textures into the game, which improves the visual fidelity.

The easiest way to solve this issue on MW2 is to head into the graphics settings and disable ‘On-Demand Texture Streaming’ and some of the other features such as motion blur for weapons.

  • Go to the Settings menu on the PlayStation 4
  • Select System Software Update and then download and install the latest software update

Finally, Infinity Ward did release an update on November 4, which addressed a number of issues gamers have been facing since launch. You can find all about the 1.08 MW2 update right here.
