There are several ways to level up guns fast in MW2. However, these following tricks are some of the best ways to level up your weapons in MW2:

Ground War

If you want to level up your gun fast, this is debatably the quickest way. You will not develop your skills with the particular weapon, but you’ll level up very quickly.

As highlighted by YouTuber Caspahz, all you need to do is to enter a vehicle, such as a tank, with the weapon you want to level up in the Ground War mode.

Each time you kill or take an objective, all the XP goes towards that weapon, rather than your overall level. It’s a great trick that seems to work quite well.

Make sure you try to spawn in these vehicles, armed with weapons you want to level up, and you’ll benefit from the trick.

Multiplayer

If you don’t fancy using the above hack and want to improve at the game, the below section is for you. It will take longer, but the rewards will be far greater – namely, you’ll be a master of your weapon and a serious contender in Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer.

However, preparation is key here. Make sure to evaluate your playstyle and select the right loadout. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. Focusing on AI is a ‘Quick Fix’ – it will level up your weapon, but your skills will not improve as quickly, so you’ll find yourself with a leveled up weapon but without the experience to put it to best use, which deathmatch modes may have given you. Still, if leveling up, that is all that matters…

In short, each are respective token systems that allow you to temporarily gain Double XP or Double Weapon XP within a given time frame. However, be sure to use these wisely, as if you time it right, they can rocket you through the weapon ranks.

As stated previously, make sure where possible, to use the Double XP token on maps that offer a chance for lots of kills (such as Shipment or Shoothouse). Don’t be afraid to duck out of a lobby if you’re on one that you’re not familiar with or strong at. Every second counts with these timed tokens.

Also, make sure you have noted when the next Double XP Weekend is. They usually last three to four days and offer great windows for players to level up their weapons in a matter of hours.
