Mortal Shell publisher Playstack has announced its giving away the game’s upcoming expansion The Virtuous Cycle for free for the first five days of its launch.
Grabbing the new rogue-like DLC before August 23 will allow you to keep it for no extra cost. After the free period, the expansion will revert back to costing £6.99 GBP. It’ll include the new mode and a transforming axe-katana weapon as previously revealed. There’s over 100 new abilities to combine, and former teacher Hadern is your new shell. Bargain!
On the reasoning for the giveaway, Playstack’s Kiron Ramdewar said “Since we launched Mortal Shell back in August 2020 we have been thinking about how to give our fans something truly special that demonstrates our sincere appreciation for their support.” He also says of the expansion: “The Virtuous Cycle Expansion has been packed with content that fans of the genre will love, and provides a new unique way to experience the rich Mortal Shell universe.” The DLC was first revealed back in June.
Mortal Shell: The Virtuous Cycle launches for free on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC from August 18. The game will also be available via Steam for the first time on the same date. You can get your eyes on a launch trailer for the new content for yourself below.
