Capcom has released free DLC for Monster Hunter Rise, in order to celebrate the success of the Sunbreak expansion.

The game released on June 30th, and it sold two million copies within a week. That’s quite bonkers, and fair enough. Now, though, Capcom has said that sales have surpassed three million. More bonkers still.

The new free DLC is called the Eldgado Pack 3 (via VGC). And it is available at the Courier in-game, in the add-on content menu. It gives you the following items:

  • Dust of Life x 30
  • Herbal Powder x 30
  • Demon Powder x 15
  • Hardshell Powder x 15
  • Friend Voucher x 10

Not too shabby. One can never have enough Hardshell powder, surely. Meanwhile, Capcom plans on releasing the first free title update for Sunbreak in August.

Monster Hunter Rise was a very good video game. It was a great entry point for the series, even though it still had the series’ trademark complexity. In VideoGamer’s review of the game, I said:

“There is enough fun available for those who are happy to muddle through, and the winning combination of Wirebug and Palamute adds enough zip to each fight that you can swing over much of its more intricate baggage. Whether that counts for or against the game, I still haven’t decided.”
