EA’s Casual Entertainment Label has announced that a new monopoly video game is currently in development for Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, mobile phones and Pogo.com.

The game will be based on the upcoming Monopoly Here & Now: The World Edition and promises a fresh take on the classic family board game. Up to four players will be able to take part simultaneously, with faster gameplay said to eliminate downtime. The Monopoly video game will feature numerous game boards and mini-games which will include breaking out of jail and running away with the loot.

“EA is taking Monopoly’s core gameplay and bringing it to life in a way never before imagined,” said Chip Lange, Vice President and General Manager of EA’s Casual Label.

The Monopoly video games are currently scheduled for release in the autumn.
