Microsoft is “looking into” the possibility of including a headset in the box with Xbox One after all, according to a tweet from the firm’s senior director of product management and planning.

Albert Penello teased fans with the news yesterday while responding to a Tweet asking whether a headset would be supplied with the console.

“We’ve heard the feedback,” Penello said. “Looking into it.”

Microsoft has previously stated that Xbox One will not include a headset in the box – a decision often frowned upon by fans.

Instead, the platform holder is hoping players will use Kinect to communicate with friends over Xbox LIVE, which is included with every console.

It was rumoured earlier this month that Xbox One would ship with a headset following a listing by the console’s official distributor Gem. The company later told VideoGamer.com that its listing was a mistake.

VideoGamer.com has contacted Microsoft for comment.
