Two major system updates for Xbox One will roll out within the next four weeks, Microsoft has announced, introducing multiple fan-requested features.
The first update, which launches next Tuesday, February 11, will include “many new improvements”, including the option to manually manage your storage space, use a USB keyboard and, thanks to a new battery power indicator, see how much battery life you have left in your Xbox One controller.
In addition, the update will include “lots of behind-the-scenes updates for developers building apps and games for Xbox One” and offer additional improvements to the quality of Kinect voice commands.
Further details on the update will be revealed soon.
Then, on March 4, a second system update will launch containing “many new features and improvements, most significantly to [Xbox One’s] party and multiplayer systems”.
Xbox One users have often criticised the console for its approach to parties, which was considered a backwards step from Xbox 360.
“We’ve been carefully listening to your feedback and look forward to delivering many new features that will make Xbox One even better,” commented Xbox chief product officer Marc Whitten. “We’re just getting started and can’t wait to share more information in the coming weeks.”
