Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will sport 1080p updated versions of Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence and Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker. The PS3 version will also offer ‘Transfarring’ which makes it possible to move game saves from PSP to PS3.

The MGS HD Collection is being developed by Bluepoint, the same team behind the God of War Collection.

Regarding Peace Walker HD, Kojima Production’s Jiroo Tsubuyaki said: “It’s not just emulation. There are many areas that are being remade, and the play feel is completely new.”

Also on the way is the Zone of the Enders HD Collection, due out in 2012 for PS3 and Xbox 360, plus a Silent Hill HD Collection featuring the second and third titles in the horror franchise.

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima also confirmed that Metal Gear Solid Rising remains on track to launch in 2012.

Why no remake of Metal Gear Solid? We’d have loved to see an enhanced version of Twin Snakes.
