Nearly everything about the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is iconic, but very little is more iconic than its brilliant titular theme song.
As Konami aims to keep everything from the original in the new Unreal Engine 5 Delta remake—including the original’s Ape Escape Minigame and risque Peep Theatre—a brand-new version of the game’s theme has been created for its sparkly new version.
Metal Gear Solid Delta gets a new Snake Eater theme
To celebrate the closely approaching release date, Konami released the new remastered version of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s opening cinematic movie. This new movie comes with a brand-new recording of the game’s theme song.
For the remaster, the song’s composition remains largely the same, but Cynthia Harrell has returned to re-record the vocals for the game. While the game uses the original voice lines from the PS2 game for its cutscenes, the musician has completely re-recorded her work for the game.

Konami has explained that the new version of the game is planned to be as faithful to the original as possible. This means that the new game will retain the original’s gated loading areas as well as content that some would assume to be censored.
However, some changes have been made such as adding a brand-new modernised control scheme that makes the game a bit easier. Some have described the new controls as allowing the player to feel more like Rambo 3 instead of First Blood.
Nevertheless, it’s a very exciting time to be a fan of Metal Gear after almost a decade of absence form the series. While we would also love a full remake of the first game—albeit in a better form than Twin Snakes—bringing back one of the series’ best with shiny new visuals is a treat.
Konami is also putting a lot of effort into reviving other franchises, including its beloved horror series Silent Hill. After Bloober Team’s fantastic Silent Hill 2 Remake, the upcoming Japanese-focused Silent Hill F is also in development that will offer a bold new take on the franchise.
