Limbic Entertainment's brutal survival romp Memories of Mars is now available to grab via Steam Early Access. There's also a launch trailer to see, but it seems more concerned with showing generic spacemen running around head-shotting each other than selling its more interesting concepts. Go figure.

Those of you who fancy braving the Red Planet can take advantage of a 10% discount on the game, but grab it while it's hot — it won't be there forever.

Memories of Mars sees you attempting to survive the planet while establishing a base of sorts, with resource gathering and exploration very much at the forefront of your exploits. However, there's one big problem: Solar flares will periodically pop up and wipe out everything you've worked hard to establish, killing you in the process.

This is where Memories of Mars attempts to keep things fresh. You can use clones to carry over some of your key abilities and talents and download them for the next season, giving you a headstart in surviving for your next round.

Seasons also act as a way of refreshing the map, changing up locations and adding new points of interest, as well as giving you access to new blueprints to develop fresh weapons and modules.
