Sony's Shawn Layden has revealed on the PlayStation Blogcast that the upcoming PlayStation 4 version of Medievil will be a full remake, and is being developed by Other Ocean Interactive.

The PlayStation chief confirmed that the remake is indeed based on the original PSOne Medievil title from 1998, and promised a new trailer for the game will drop on October 31. This ties in with what we previously heard, as Layden had teased more info would be coming soon.

'I think there have been some words that might sound alike but mean different things—like remake and remaster,' commented Layden. 'This is a remake. We’ve taken the original game design and we’ve taken a lot of the key art, and some of the other attributes of the game design and ethos, if you will, and we’re working with a developer called Other Ocean Interactive, and they are remaking MediEvil and that design—the original MediEvil from PS1.'

Layden also revealed that the team is 'working with some of the talent' that had a part in the original Medievil 20 years ago, and assured fans that the remake would stay true 'to the original intent of the creators.'

Medievil on PS4 has yet to attract a release date.
