NetEase Games’ Marvel Rivals has been under hot water for the publisher’s “sad culling” of its American developers. However, with the mid-season update now live and the game enjoying a record number of players, PC players will be happy to know that they’ve been treated to a brand-new option that console players won’t have access to.

Marvel Rivals PC gets better and better

As revealed by Nvidia, the latest Marvel Rivals update has not only added two new heroes, but also new graphics options for those using Nvidia RTX GPUs.

Players using Nvidia RTX graphics cards will now be able to use DLSS 4 image reconstruction, a the most performant and stable image reconstruction yet. Using the new Transformer model, players using the image reconstruction to squeeze out massively improved performance will also see better image quality than before.

Additionally, players with an RTX 50-series GPU—if you’re able to get your hands on one—will also be able to make use of DLSS Multi Frame Generation. According to Nvidia, “this massive leap in performance enables GeForce RTX 5090 owners to play at over 440 frames per second at 4K with settings maxed out”.

Of course, Marvel Rivals doesn’t look bad on console at all, and it runs at a great level of performance. However, with DLSS image reconstruction now being good enough to look native—or even better in some cases—resolution, PC players can now push higher frames than ever before to get that sick flick shot as Punisher, or simply swing around as Spider-Man with the smoothest possible look.

With gaming monitors now having refresh rates in the hundreds, even the beefiest gaming PCs will have trouble running Marvel Rivals at over 400fps. With DLSS 4, and the extremely expensive graphics cards needed for MFG, that’s no longer an issue.
