NetEase has released plenty of balance changes in Marvel Rivals, shifting the meta. Season 1.5 has brought several surprises in terms of the win rate of certain heroes, and interestingly, several fan-favorite characters have been nerfed to the ground. The mid-season update may have brought a new meta, so let’s see what it is.
We’ll take a deeper look at the biggest changes in win rate between Season 1 and 1.5, revealing which characters have benefited the most from recent updates.
The new Marvel Rivals meta is on the horizon
With a 54.32% win rate, Storm still reign supreme. However, it’s interesting that her win rate decreased by 1.62% in comparison to the first half of the season. She is no longer as powerful as she used to be, but this is not a big issue. On the other hand, Dr. Strange is no longer effective, as his win rate dropped to under 50% this season.
The fan-favorite Vanguard received a nerf which dropped his base health from 650 to 600. This turned out to be a huge issue, as the tank’s win rate is now 49.03%, down by 1.68% in comparison to the first half of the season. This is the first time that Dr. Strange has a sub-50-percent win rate, and it will be interesting to see if NetEase will buff him in the future. For now, he is the second-worst tank in the game.
Here are some other notable shifts in win rate:
Hero | Win rate change |
---|---|
Peni Parker | -1.48% |
Magik | -0.89% |
Hulk | -1.52% |
Black Panther | -1.03% |
Wolverine | -1.71% |
Psylocke | -1.27% |
Cloak & Dagger | -1.60% |
Moon Knight | -1.01% |

On the positive side, several Marvel Rivals heroes now have a much higher win rate in comparison to the previous season. Interestingly, Adam Warlock has finally become a viable character, as his win rate has improved by 2.04%, the highest among all heroes. Another Strategist, Mantis, now wins 1.72% more often, while Rocket’s win rate has further increased, as he remains the most effective healer in the game.
Not only does Rocket have an impressive win rate, which is the second-highest among all heroes, but he’s also the anchor of the team-up with The Punisher and Winter Soldier. This team-up is one of the most popular in Season 1.5 and wins 57.22% of matches, which is an impressive number. Is going to be the meta in Marvel Rivals until Season 2? It certainly has a lot of potential.
These are a few other heroes with positive changes in win rate:
Hero | Win rate change |
---|---|
Captain America | +1.56 |
Hela | +1.09% |
Star Lord | +1.26% |
Venom | +1.26% |
Magneto | +0.82% |
Hawkeye | +1.92 |
Season 2 of Marvel Rivals will begin in April, and NetEase probably won’t make any drastic changes to the meta until then. Due to this, we expect win rates to stay more or less the same in the final weeks of Season 1.5. The next season will bring a new hero and new team-ups, which may easily shift the meta in another direction.
