Since its initial release, Marvel Rivals has enthralled players with its dynamic hero shooter action and complex progression mechanics, particularly the Hero Proficiency System. This feature rewards players for mastering specific characters by earning rare cosmetics, titles, and the highly sought-after Lord Icons—unique emblems that demonstrate a player’s devotion to their favorite heroes.

Lord Icons, in particular, have become a fan favorite, providing a renowned way to demonstrate mastery in characters such as Spider-Man, Emma Frost, and Wolverine. Players adore these emblems for their rarity and the bragging rights they provide, transforming matches into displays of ability and dedication. The system fosters a variety of playstyles because each hero’s competency track presents unique obstacles, such as landing precision abilities and obtaining team goals.

However, now reliable leakers have started hinting that new proficiency rewards are coming in Season 2, which may include many never-seen-before cosmetic items. Here’s everything we know about it.

Reliable leakers like Miller Ross have teased that new proficiency rewards for Season 2 may be coming soon, fueling excitement among fans. While information is scant, rumor suggests expanded cosmetics, unique animations, and perhaps new icon tiers.

The same leak was also shared by RivalsAssembled, who wrote that Hero Proficiency may get new rewards in a huge future update. As of now, the next known update is Season 2.5, which is due to arrive mid-May and, once again, might bring massive changes to the gameplay, similar to the past mid-season update.

Furthermore, NetEase has also hinted at the usability of Lord Icons on the Hero Selection wheel in the past, which is also awaited by players so they can see the heroes they have reached peak proficiency with during the game.

However, players had some interesting suggestions on new proficiency rewards, where one wrote, “They should add number of levels to Lord in the red bags. I.E. – Lord l, ll, lll.” Another chimed in, “Lord exclusive skins would be cool.” A third user requested, “Victory poses should be added or poses in general.”
