Marvel Rivals devs vow to fix one of the biggest issues with the game

Marvel Rivals has gripped players since its inception with its spectacular 6v6 superhero battles, pitting icons such as Spider-Man and Iron Man against each other in destructible, multiverse-spanning battlefields. However, the game’s rapid rise has been hampered by a slew of game-breaking bugs and glitches that are straining the patience of its increasing player base.

From Doctor Strange’s portals misfiring at a low frame rate to Wolverine’s claws swinging slower on inferior PCs, players have noticed mechanics connected to hardware performance, giving high-end rig owners an unfair advantage. Others have faced environmental traps—such as becoming trapped in Yggsgard’s geometry—or abilities malfunctioning completely, such as Namor’s ultimate delivering no damage following Jeff’s spit.

Amidst the commotion, a new glitch has emerged, highlighting Vanguard hero Peni Parker and her Arachno-Mines. A March 13 patch intended to remedy an issue that caused mines to vanish beyond her Cyber-Webs. Instead, it backfired, generating the “invisible mines bug,” which causes mines to disappear unexpectedly, even within webs, perplexing players and frustrating Peni mains. This latest bug has turned Peni’s hallmark ability into a roulette of chaos, but devs have now promised players an incoming fix.

NetEase promises a fix to Peni Parker’s mines bug in Marvel Rivals

The developers at NetEase posted a message on their official Discord server, promising a fix to the mines bug that will arrive soon in the game. In the text, they wrote, “We’ve been following the discussions in the community about Peni Parker, specifically regarding her Arachno-Mines. It seems that even when entering her Cyber-Web, the mines can still be attacked and destroyed during their burrowing and explosive phases, which is definitely impacting her gameplay experience. We recognize this as a bug.”

The bug has been quite frustrating for both Peni mains as well as players on the receiving end of it who have numerous times called out the developers for a potential fix. After the devs rectified this bug, they further commented, “

The correct behavior should be that once the Arachno-Mines are within her Cyber-Web, they remain invulnerable and cannot be destroyed. Outside her Cyber-Web, they should be destructible as normal. We’ve pinpointed the issue and are actively working on a fix. As soon as we have an update, we’ll make sure to keep you all in the loop!”

Players who are fans of the character and enjoy playing as her, celebrated this response from the devs where one user said, “Permanent mines in the spider webs as a Peni main Lord, I can’t wait for this. She desperately needed a buff badly. I will gladly take this.” On the other hand, those who already are suffering at the hands of the SP//DR said, “They should add reload to her primary, it makes no sense why she has infinite ammo while everyone has to reload.”
