A court arbitrator has ruled that fired Bungie co-founder and composer Marty O’Donnell is to have his shares returned.

O’Donnell’s stock in Bungie was taken away following his departure from the developer earlier this year. Bungie said in a statement that he parted on good terms, but O’Donnell argued his employment had been terminated “without cause”.

The composer would have had to part with his stock had he left voluntarily.

It’s not known how many shares O’Donnell owns and indeed what value they hold. Bungie has the option to appeal.

O’Donnell had earlier sued Bungie and was compensated $95,000 for unpaid wages relating to overtime.

Bungie’s Destiny launches September 9.
