Mario Kart for Nintendo Switch will include all the on-disc content and DLC of Mario Kart 8 for Wii U, plus a host of extras, reports Nintendo tipster Laura Dale.

This extra content will include new tracks, new characters, plus a new and improved Battle Mode.

This all makes for a bumper package, with the Wii U content alone offering 48 courses and 36 playable characters.

Sadly Mario Kart won’t be available alongside the Switch in March, but should launch within three months of this date.

Another rumour today indicates Splatoon will be bundled with the system, whilst a new 3D Mario game and Skyrim Special Edition will also be available from day one.
