The publishing arm of the studio behind Yooka-Laylee has announced cutesy action adventure Lil Gator Game for the PC and Nintendo Switch.

Developed by indie team MegaWobble, the game sees you take on the role of a Link-like Lil Gator. He used to spend time playing fantasy with his big sister, until she grew older and seemingly above playtime. It’s up to Lil Gator to adventure across an open-world island and remind his big sis of the joys of imagination. According to the blurb, the game is said to be “built around the idea of uninterrupted exploration and child-like whimsy”.

We’re promised a “packed tool-box” of toys and abilities on your adorable adventure. Lil Gator himself will have plenty of Breath of the Wild style moves at his disposal. These include climbing, jumping, gliding and being able to fling himself across wide distances. You’ll take on cardboard foes, and pick up quests for friends across the island. You’ll also use arts and crafts to make every day things part of your adventure and transform the playground into your own magical kingdom.

There’ll also be a free demo for the game as part of the Steam Game Fest. You can pick it up between October 1 and October 7 from the game’s Steam Page. Lil Gator Game will then launch in full on Nintendo Switch and PC in 2022.
