- The Light No Fire release window has not been set or confirmed in any way yet.
- Our speculation for the release date is 2025, considering the game has been in development for five years now.
Hello Games is working away at the studio’s next game, Light No Fire. While we wait for a confirmed release date, there is hope that it might arrive sooner than later. Until then, we only have a trailer to gawk at and a dedicated website detailing a bunch of gameplay details. The game was first announced at the 2023 Game Awards, and it is the follow-up game from Hello Games, the studio behind No Man’s Sky.
Light No Fire release date prediction
The Light No Fire release window is currently unknown, but we could expect to see it launch early next year. For now, there has only been an announcement trailer which admittedly showed a lot of gameplay and could be considered a fairly finished product considering the game has been in development for five years. It is unclear how long away the release date is, but we might hear more information about the game at Gamescom.
We do know that Light No Fire will only be released on Steam to begin with. There is no word on a console launch, but No Man’s Sky is on all platforms, meaning the precedent is set.
Light No Fire gameplay
From the trailer, we’ve seen that Light No Fire is a game about survival, crafting, and exploring a world together. The game is set on a fantasy planet and will feature RPG elements and the freedom you’d expect in a sandbox survival game. You’ll notice that this game is decidedly very different to No Man’s Sky, with a stronger fantasy vibe as opposed to sci-fi and space travel.
The game seems to have a clear emphasis on being a co-op experience, with a huge world to explore and things to uncover. Whether this means the game will be an online-only experience, with other people online seeing and interacting with each other in the same world, is unknown. Hello Games has released a lot of extra content for No Man’s Sky, but it could be argued that this is because the studio was all but accused of misleading people. It seems unlikely Light No Fire will get the same free expansion treatment.
Light No Fire trailers
The only trailer we’ve seen for Light No Fire is the one revealed by Hello Games and Geogg Keighley at the Game Awards in 2023. During this reveal, Head of Hello Games, Sean Murray, said Light No Fire has been in development for five years. The trailer we’ve seen shows a huge fantasy world, with people riding dragons, large cities, and a large explorable sandbox. This reveal also confirms that there will be one planet to explore, unlike the seemingly unlimited number in No Man’s Sky.
