12.18 is looking to focus on ‘tuning down some over-performing picks’ mentioned by Riot Games when looking at champs such as Kalista and Lulu.

Riot Games will also look to buff under the radar champions that have been underutilised as of recent.

It’s to be noted, that this is the patch prior to Worlds 2022, the League of Legends pro championship.

So nevertheless, lets jump into the Patch Notes Highlights:

Champion Adjustments

Quite notably, there are thirteen champion adjustments, whether buffed or nerfed or general changes.

This was quite obvious to spot as prior to Worlds, a look at most champions was needed to revised to have a healthy pool of champions prior.

Notably, changes to Lee Sin stood out the most, as he has now been given a health growth, extending his survivability.

Alongside this, his W life steal has increased with even more survivability. This is huge for junglers and Lee Sin lovers who can sustain themselves in fights even longer!

  • Base Stats: Health Growth from 99 to 105
  • W – Safeguard/Iron Will ability: Lifesteal and Spellvamp 5/9.5/14/18.5/23% ⇒ 5/10.5/16/21.5/27%

Lulu, as mentioned before has seen a huge nerf! With her ‘W’ ability being decreased, with disable duration decreased alongside a longer CD (cooldown)

This comes to no surprise, with Riot mentioning that ‘Lulu has been the best enhancer on the Rift as of late’. This is no surprise, seeing as Lula has a 49% win rate currently!

Maokai, Udyr and Hecarim have also seen considerable different changes to their kit too.

The patch notes consist of a plethora of notes however, you can access the full patch notes below to read in your own leisure!

Competitive Changes

Source: Riot Games

Few changes are coming to competitive queue due to popularity. With support being one of the least favourite roles and putting more priority over those that need it!

This means that being autofilled will be less likely and penalised to ones that had to endure a game getting a role they didn’t want, hooray!

Behavioural Systems

Riot Games have continuously looked to address a robust behavioural system, here is what they’ve had to say for the newest patch:

“Players you have recently honored or who have recently honored you will show up in the suggested party members menu with an honor icon next to their summoner name. Now you can run it back with those you’ve already enjoyed playing with!”
