La Pucelle and Phantom Brave are prequel and sequel title, respectively, to Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, released here earlier this year to critical acclaim. Developed by Nippon Ichi Software, the game was a fresh, challenging and often amusing SRPG about Demon Prince Laharl who awakes after 2 years to find his father dead and his kingdom without a crown.

La Pucelle offers the chance to fight on the side of good, as you take on the role of Prier who, along with her brother Cullote and babysitter Alouette, form the demon hunting group La Pucelle; a church-sponsored group whose job it is to rid the land of evil.

Phantom Brave centres around an orphan girl named Marona – as a mercenary for hire (or, ‘Chroma’) she wanders the world of Ivoire taking on tasks assigned to her by clients. Her strange ability to summon phantoms alienates her from others, but proves to be a handy ability for a strategy title.

Phantom Brave is slated to arrive here in February 2005, while La Pucelle has a more vague spring release, which will no doubt come as good news to many, given the usual lack of new releases during those months.
