Japanese developers Konami have at last revealed a concrete US release date for the third (and, so they say, final) installment in the hugely successful Metal Gear Solid series. Initially, the game will be a PlayStation 2 exclusive, but, an Xbox conversion, in the style of 2002’s Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance is expected to arrive at a later date, but no details have been confirmed on this yet.

Directed and produced by Legendary gaming icon Hideo Kojima, the game, subtitled Snake Eater, promises to deliver yet another unique gaming experience, combining stealth, action, a mind-bending storyline, and Hollywood-esque cinematics, all in the style we’ve grown to expect from one of the best-selling videogame series of all time.

Look out for more on the game as it’s release approaches.
