Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be getting an upgrade for those playing on PS5 Pro. The game featured briefly during PlayStation’s State of Play, as one of a number of titles set to be ‘Enhanced‘ for Sony’s upcoming console.

While exact details about just how much on upgrade fans can expect to see compared to the game running on the base model are pretty sparse, Konami confirmed on the PS Blog that the new hardware will allow for a ‘smoother’ experience and better framerates, thanks to the Pro’s PSSR technology.

“In Metal Gear Solid Delta, the innovative PSSR technology allows for the trees and the lush vegetation of the game’s iconic jungle terrain to become more vivid, and enhances the sense of realism of infiltrating through a natural environment,” wrote Creative Producer, Yuji Korekado. “Additionally, we are able to deliver a smoother gameplay experience with better framerates throughout the entire game.”

There’s no word yet what ‘better’ framerates actually mean. Are they targeting above 60FPS? Does this the game will run below that on the standard PS5? Time will tell. If we were to guess, we’d expect a more stable framerate with the Pro, with slightly more detailed foliage in the jungle, much like we’ve seen in some of the gameplay demonstrations where The Last of Us: Part 2’s Pro version was put side by side with a standard console.

There’s also no news yet on a release date, but signs are pointing for an announcement at the Tokyo Games Show this month, where Konami has confirmed the game will be playable for the public.
