It has been a knockout blow for the Dodgeball game from Velan Studios after they announced Knockout City will be shutting down later this year. The announcement came via a tweet, as seen below, whilst their blog post had more information.

When Will Knockout City be Shutting Down?

Knockout City is set to close on the 6th of June 2023 after the game was first released in May, 2021. This also means that Season 9, which begins on the 28th of February, will be the last season for Knockout City.

The final season will also not allow for real money to be spent in the game, although they have said Season 9 is set to be packed with rewards and XP for players.

The final two weeks of the game will have triple XP, with huge rewards on offer for the players, and the “community’s favourite playlist, Superpowers: Power Grab”.

The live version of the game may be gone, but a private server is set to be released on PC so fans can still enjoy games with their friends

This announcement comes in a week of shutdowns with Apex Legends Mobile and Back4Blood development also ending. Hopefully though this means the folks over at Velan Studios can get started on another creative idea to follow up from the success they found with Knockout City.
