The movie Jumanji is getting a tie-in official video game ahead of the action adventure sequel later this year, publisher Bandai Namco has announced.

The game will be an action adventure based on the recent Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle reboot starring Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, which itself saw the titular board game from the original 1995 Robin Williams movie turned into a video game. So if you're following along, that's a game based on a movie about a video game based on a board game. I've written the word game so many times it may have lost all meaning.

Anyway, it'll be an action adventure with online and split screen co-op play, and you'll be able to unlock new outfits and weapon styles as you traverse your way through the dangerous jungles of Jumanji. Credit where it's due, the game does appear to be using the likeness of stars Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Karen Gillan, Jack Black and Kevin Smith.

There's a brief teaser trailer, which we've embedded below – Jumanji: The Video Game is set to release November 15 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC and Nintendo Switch.
