Jason West, the co-founder of Infinity Ward and Respawn, has been snapped up by former Gears of War developer Epic Games.

That's according to Geoff Keighley, who wrote on Twitter that West has been with Epic for about a month now. West left Respawn back in 2013, and it is believed he hasn't worked on any game since then. His new position with Epic hasn't been disclosed yet, but presumably we'll find out at some point.

Respawn was founded by West and Vince Zampella back in 2010, and shipped its first game, Titanfall, in March 2014. The studio's latest project, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on November 15.

Prior to founding Respawn, West and Zampella established Infinity Ward with Grant Collier back in 2002, where the studio made a name for itself working on the Call of Duty games. In 2010, West and Zampella were fired by publisher Activision for 'breaches of contract and insubordination.'
