Since the beginning of the Light and Darkness saga in Destiny 2, The Witness has frequently been a thorn in Guardians’ sides. Will The Witness be the final boss in Destiny 2 Lightfall?
The final boss in Lightfall is not The Witness and is instead one of their recently appointed disciples, Calus. Calus had been the emperor of the Cabal Empire before the onset of the Red War. However, he was eventually overthrown by Dominus Ghaul, who then proclaimed himself the new emperor afterwards.

Players will be able to take on Calus during the final mission of the campaign called Desperate Measures. As always, this will be the toughest boss fight in the current DLC so you’ll want to be well-prepared before you dive into it.
Since Lightfall is only the penultimate chapter in the Light and Darkness Saga, it wouldn’t have made sense to include the final clash with The Witness immediately. Instead, the inevitable climactic battle will most likely take place in the last expansion, The Final Shape. But with the next installment still roughly a year away, the world-ending clash should be far from everyone’s minds for now.
