FIFA 23 is once again one of the biggest sports games of the year with players desperate to show they’re the best in a variety of game modes. The big one though is Ultimate Team, the card building online experience that FIFA has offered since FIFA 09.

FIFA 23 Is Down?

This is the error message you’ll get if the FIFA 23 game is down

On the 12/01/2023, FIFA 23 was down for scheduled maintenance, although it is now back up and running ready to play.

You can still play offline game modes like Career Mode and Kick-Off, however you won’t be able to update your squads or see the most recent form.

We will keep this updated in hope the servers will be back up soon. There was scheduled maintenance for today but it has lasted longer then was originally intended. As can be seen in the tweet above.

28/09/22 at 17.28 BST, FIFA 23 is not down.

If the game is ever down, you will likely be met with the following message.

“The EA servers are not available at this time. Please try again later. See ea.com/unable-to-connect for additional information.”

Some players have reported a slightly different message: “The FUT service is currently experiencing a high volume of server traffic. Please try again later.”

It’s natural that FIFA 23’s launch will be very popular indeed – so a lot of people will try to get on at once.

FIFA 23 releases to everyone on September 30 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia.

However, those who’ve paid a little extra to pre-order the game’s Ultimate Edition can start playing from today. Those who have an EA Play Membership can also access the game for 10 hours via the program’s EA Play Trial scheme.

27.09.22: UPDATE as of 17:30 PM BST: FIFA 23 was down. On the screen it comes up with “Unable to connect to EA Servers. Please check your internet connection, make sure the Platform Client is online and try again”
