17/10/2022:

Per a report from Bleeding Cool regarding the plans in 2023 to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the debut of the ‘Invincible’ comic book series. Their article mentions that:

in the Summer of 2023, with the release of Season Two of Invincible, there will be Invincible Vol.1 (New Edition), collecting the Invincible comic book series from the very beginning in an all-new 6″x9″ graphic novel format with new covers from Cory Walker & Dave McCaig.

Now, this is by no means an official confirmation of the Season 2 release date, yet…

As Bleeding Cool are known to have trusted sources within the comic book industry, and it is entirely possible that when discussing Image Comic’s plans for next years 20th Anniversary celebrations, it could have been casually revealed (just as it is casually mentioned in their report) that the 2nd season of the animated series will be debuting next summer.

Then, not long after Bleeding Cool published their report, the official Prime Video UK Twitter account posted the below tweet seemingly teasing and confirming that the second season will indeed be debuting at some point in 2023:

Invincible Season 2 release date?

Updated – 17/10/2022:

As reported above in the “Latest News” section of this article, it is looking increasingly likely that the second season will debut in Summer of 2023 as part of the upcoming 20th Anniversary celebrations for the ‘Invincible’ comic series.

Original Text:

At the minute, we haven’t had any official or even rumoured information about when the 2nd season could release.

We do know courtesy of the below tweet from the official Invincible Twitter page that Season 2, and Season 3 have been confirmed as being green lit by Amazon Studios:

In addition we also know from this earlier tweet from the official Twitter page as well that star, Steven Yeun, has been back in the voice over booth recording for Season 2:

So, unless there is an announcement (hopefully not) that the show has been cancelled, we know that Invincible Season 2 is being worked on right now, and given the time needed for animated productions, I wouldn’t expect to see it before 2023, likely between March and July 2023 if it is released next year.

Where can I watch ‘Invincible’ Season 2?

As the show is an Amazon Original, like Season 1 (which is currently available to new and existing Prime Video subscribers), Season 2 will be released exclusively worldwide on Prime Video for Amazon Prime subscribers.

Invincible Season 2 story?

While no official story has been confirmed for the season yet, it’s highly likely that it will continue to adapt the stories seen in the ‘Invincible’ comic series. So, with this said, and given the ending of Season 1, it’s most likely that we will see Mark/Invincible having to adjust and grow into his role as Earth’s new protector, with the revelation of his father/Omni-Man’s true mission and purpose on Earth.

This will likely see Invincible having to protect the Earth from an invasion by the alien force, The Sequids, as well as dealing with the arrival of the villainous, Angstrom Levy, who ‘Invincible’ creator, Robert Kirkman, has previously teased as appearing in Season 2.

In addition, there is a good chance that we will also see Omni-Man on the planet, Thraxa, followed by the events of him meeting his fellow Viltrumites once more.
