New free-to-play gacha game Infinity Nikki has reportedly been hacked just hours after launch. The open-world dress-up game has been hyped for months as a friendly gacha game designed for female gamers, but it’s launch has been attacked by hackers.
Infinity Nikki hacked
While the game’s official website is now back to normal, fans noticed the Infinity Nikki site was hacked just hours after its launch. When players went to download the game on PC, or just check out the website, it instead played a horrible message.
“Kill yourself! Or just better try Genshin Impact private server,” the Infinity Nikki website read. The simple text on white background was accompanied by a QR code which we have not scanned for security reasons.
On the gachagaming subreddit, fans warned others of the recent hack. Gacha game fans explained that they attempted to download the game but were met with the horrible message. “I was so confused,” one fan said.
The Infinity Nikki hack only lasted for around 30 minutes before developer InFold Games managed to revert the website back to normal. However, it’s not known how many players were affected by the half-hour hack period of the site.
It’s worth noting that the owners of the Genshin Impact private server listed in the hacked message have denied all involvement in the attack. Discord messages from users associated with the Genshin Impact server have expressed their disdain at the hackers’ use of their server for the malicious message.
Alongside the open-world dress-up game, other InFold game websites were also affected. Love and Deepspace, a new instalment of the popular “Mr. Love” series also displayed the exact same nefarious messages to its fans.
Despite the awful attack on the game’s launch, Infinity Nikki is available right now on PC, Mobile and PlayStation 5 consoles.
