Fortnite has revamped its graphics each season with new benchmarks the latest version of Unreal Engine brings to the game. In Chapter 4, Epic introduced Lumen lighting and Nanite Geometry to the game, which made Fortnite look hyper-realistic with stunning reflections and shadows.
Ever since then, players have gotten high-quality updates in the game that have made the island look beautiful each season with flawless detail. Now Epic is bringing the same graphics benchmark in the next huge Fortnite update coming to PlayStation, however, only players who can afford it will be able to experience it.
Sony announces massive Fortnite graphics overhaul for PS5 Pro on Day 1
Ahead of the release of the PlayStation 5 Pro console on November 7, Sony has announced that Fortnite will be enhanced for the PS5 Pro from Day 1. They also informed fans that the console is capable of advanced ray tracing, PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, and 120 FPS during gameplay at max graphics settings.
This means that the game will surpass its graphic limitations on the standard PS5 and offer a more PC-like experience on the PlayStation 5 Pro. To those unaware, PS5 players can turn on the 120 FPS performance mode in Fortnite on their consoles, but at the cost of lower graphics fidelity.
However, the PS5 Pro is said to run the game at 120 FPS without compromising on the Ray Tracing and SSR, hence you can expect some massive changes coming to PC as well. Upon hearing this, some PC Fortnite users felt major FOMO and turned in their thoughts.
One such user said, “My pc does 115fps at 1440p max settings. So if this does 120fps and 1080p-1440p, then that is a HUGE W for PlayStation users.” Another one wrote, “That’s crazy, that’s higher than what I get in a stacked endgame on performance mode.”
On the other hand, some PC users are considering switching to the latest Sony console where one user commented, “Might switch from PC Fortnite to console Fortnite if this is true.”
While Epic hasn’t yet issued a statement on Fortnite’s performance on a PS5 Pro console, rumors are it has sufficient computing power to run the enhanced graphics that the next Chapter 6 will bring to the game. More will be revealed once the PS5 Pro is out and whether the regular PS5 users will receive a similar graphical upscale or not.
