How to Unlock Guns in MW2

From information in the MW2 Beta, and in the previous 2019 version of Modern Warfare, unlocking guns in the game is incredibly simple. The more you play, the more XP you will earn, which in turn affects your overall level. As you level up, more guns and attachments will become available.

To unlock guns faster, you’ll need to earn maximum XP through wins. Then, once you’ve found the weapon you like most, all you need to do is:

• Go to the Loadout section and equip your favorite weapons into your loadout selection.
• Level them up by playing and using these weapons in matches and earning more damage points.

Through this, you’ll unlock more attachments, which can be used to customise your weapon through Gunsmith 2.0.

Gunsmith 2.0 – How to use Gunsmith 2.0

Gunsmith 2.0 is the new weapon customisation arriving to Modern Warfare 2, what this allows players to do is unlock a plethora of guns through levelling up.

It’ll be your main hub around the guns you create, but will be the place you go to look at your gun progression and steps to unlock the next gun as you level up in-game.

This is a crucial step to make your gun levelling so much more easier!

This all may sound confusing at first, but just follow these expected steps come launch:

• Select your favorite weapon (like an M4)
• Play until you reach Level 13 and unlock the Receiver
• This will unlock the FTAC Recon Assault Rifle
• Play further until Level 18 to unlock the next weapon
• Repeat this cycle

You also have the ability to choose an unlocked weapon, and use those weapon to also unlock others as you go. The system is like a tree graph that is continuous but makes it simpler to understand as you play more and more.

It’s also really useful to get to grips with this as you’ll need to use different guns to unlock certain attachments across specific gun classes.
