Horizon Zero Dawn has just been confirmed to be in production for PC and PS5. The listing mostly confirms what we’d already known, especially since PlayStation have been so eager to get the Horizon franchise onto as many platforms as possible, even LEGO.
The rating was uploaded to the official ESRB website yesterday, and was quickly spotted by fans eager to suggest that this remaster was unnecessary. It’s already playable on PC, alongside a very good PS5 version, although it’s in very much in-line with PlayStation’s publishing protocol for its standout exclusives. I mean, take The Last of Us, for example. It’s just a shame Bloodborne is unlikely to get the same treatment.
The rating also confirms that the “word ‘sh*t’ appears in the text/dialogue,” which will be a shock to many – unless they have played the LEGO Horizon game.
The ESRB rating is not the first time that Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered has been leaked. In 2022, Gematsu and VGC verified accounts suggesting “a document featuring several announced and unannounced [SIE] projects – including a remastered version of Horizon Zero Dawn for PlayStation 5” had been found. This was also followed with reports of a Horizon multiplayer game, which was later confirmed to be in development by Guerrilla Games.
PlayStation’s next State of Play sounds like the optimal time to announce this.
