In a live-service game like Helldivers 2, developer Arrowhead has often released nerfs and buffs that don’t sit well with the community. In the latest patch for Arrowhead’s action game, players will now be able to use the Shield Generator stratagem without, or at least with less, fear of death.
The Shield Generator protects all
After massively revamping the game’s difficulty and regaining thousands of players, Helldivers 2 balancing has been a hot topic for fans. As every update brings new changes, and often bugs, players have been annoyed at the recent state of the Shield Generator stratagem.
While not the best stratagem in the game, the SH-32 Shield Generator allows players to protect themselves against enemy fire. Over the past few updates, the stratagem has been mostly useless due to huge nerfs in its overall lifetime.
In the latest Helldivers 2 update, Arrowhead has increased the lifetime of the SH-32 Shield Generator from 30 seconds to 40 seconds, making the tool more useful during a huge barrage of enemy fire. While this doesn’t make the tool a “must have” stratagem for players, it does make it more usable in the field.
More buffs on the way
While Arrowhead is keen to explore harder difficulty levels for masochistic players in future updates, the studio has also been keen to buff weapons after the difficulty debacle earlier this year. Even the Jump Pack was massively buffed, turning it into one of the most fun pieces of equipment in the game.
Hopefully, even more buffs are on the way, especially as massive, seemingly insurmountable major orders are being introduced before the arrival of the Democracy Space Station. Whatever happens, Arrowhead is still hard at work on additional content for the live-service game. Personally, we’re hoping for more melee weapons, but we’re not holding out breath.
