It isn’t uncommon for live service games to go through high and low points. Unfortunately, Helldivers 2 has experienced its first low point much sooner than expected due to the PSN controversy and recent weapon nerfs that have turned players away. Now that Arrowhead Game Studios is actively working to fix the balancing issues, with CEO Johan Pilestedt stepping down to become CCO to focus solely on development, some players now want the community to stop complaining and let the developers do what they need to do.
U/Usernameboy777 took to Reddit to plead with the Helldivers 2 community to calm down on the constant complaining and wait to see what the future holds for the game now that Johan Pilestedt is focused on the development side and updates will be released less frequently.
The Reddit user acknowledges that there are things that we need to be vocal about such as “some of the more out-of-pocket balancing, the Major Order rates and how they are shown/affected, better information to the players outside of Discord, patrols, etc.” All very valid and important things to bring up.” They also then noted that the negativity within the community will undoubtedly turn potential players away from the game and that many go into new updates with a negative mindset, such as expecting the new Emancipator Exosuit Mech to be bad so are less likely to come away with a positive view of it.
“We are already complaining and comparing the stats to the mech when it has been out for less than a day? Guys we are becoming the classic bitch and moan-about-everything and no one is gonna want to come here besides other people who are just upset about the game. I’m sure people disagree and that is fine but I’ve been around and this to me is officially the point where we need to chill a little with the constant complaining and negativity.”
