The latest Helldivers 2 Major Order called for the community to collect a total of 65,000,000 Samples across the various types that are in the game. Within just 12 hours it was completed, leaving many players baffled and rumors began circulating that hackers may have been. It turns out that our theories were correct as this has now been acknowledged by Arrowhead Game Studios.
Super Earth has sent Helldivers 2 players a message stating that the previous Major Order was completed by undemocratic methods.
“Super Earth High Command has detected a large batch of counterfeit samples within the delivery of the last Major Order. As is customary, Medals have been awarded to all Helldivers who honorably performed their duties, and the ones submitting false samples have had their pet fish summarily executed.
Laboratories all across Super Earth space are attempting to filter out the false samples, but the expected scientific advances to combat the spread of the Gloom have decreased significantly. As a result of this, worlds near the gloom have begun resettlement protocols.”
It was expected by the community that hackers had played a part in the fast completion of the Major Order, with the community having earned 15,000,000 Rare Samples in less than an hour, and a total of 65,000,000 Samples collected in just 12 hours. Players were still awarded 55 Medals for completing the Major Order and it looks like they won’t be removed from accounts. This is great news because the Freedom’s Flame Warbond was released last week, which means there are plenty of new weapons, armor, and cosmetics to unlock this month including fire-resistant armor, and a new alternative to the Breaker Incendiary Shotgun, which could become meta when paired with the Autocannon.
But there is one question that has to be asked… where were these hackers when the Helldivers 2 community needed to eradicate 1.5 billion enemies, perhaps then we wouldn’t have been forced to unlock the Anti-Tank Mines.
