Arrowhead Game Studios is in a damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation right now. The developers were previously releasing new updates on a near-weekly basis, bringing new weapons and changes. Sometimes these were a hit and others weren’t, especially when it came to weapon balancing.
Now, the developers have decided to slow down updates, which will all for more playtesting to ensure the changes made will benefit the game and the community. However, this has caused the Helldivers 2 community to complain that there hasn’t been an update for the past few weeks, and the next update won’t be released this week either.
When the next update arrives remains to be seen, but players need to curb their expectations and keep things realistic as Arrowhead Game Studios has stated that the next update won’t be a balancing update. That’s not to say the next patch won’t contain some balancing changes. But, many players are expecting the next update to reverse every weapon nerf made and the game goes back to how it was a couple of months ago.
Instead, these changes will be rolled out over the coming months as Johan Pilestedt spends more time as CCO and can focus more on the development of Helldivers 2. There have been some major changes within Arrowhead Game Studios recently, and its impact on the game will become apparent, but not today.
