The fire-themed Freedom’s Flame Warbond was recently releases following the Escalation of Freedom update, that also nerfed fire. This led to some backlash from the Helldivers 2 community due to the meta Breaker Incendiary Shotgun being nerfed. But players are discovering a new shotgun in the Warbond is good, and now believe it will soon be nerfed too.
U/TheMightyPipe took to the Helldivers 2 sub-Reddit to discuss the recently released Cookout Shotgun from the Freedom’s Flame Warbond and that they believe it will be nerfed in a future update saying “Mark my words, they are going to nerf the total rounds from 60 to 40.”
u/Snooparip took to the replies to suggest a likely nerf for it saying “theyre gonna reduce the stagger somehow, i just had this feeling.” This one would make sense as Arrowhead also changed the stagger effect in the fairly recent Pummeler SMG, which made it a lot worse, it was my primary weapon to use against the Terminids.
u/StravosZhekhov also used this opportunity to praise the new Cookout Shotgun saying “It’s more fun to use than it is meta. That badass feeling when that massive fireball comes out of the barrel.”
It will be interesting to see how long it takes for Arrowhead to begin nerfing items from the Freedom’s Flame Warbond. If they do, they should justify it according to the Arrowhead CEO who recently said that the Helldivers 2 developers will soon be hosting live streams to explain their decisions to players and gather feedback.
