Warner Bros & Portkey Games has announced a new multiplayer game set in the Wizarding World universe for PC and console – entitled Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions.
The reveal came along with the announcement that the game will already be holding a series of limited playtests, which it’s inviting interested parties to sign up for as the game’s development goes on. The game will be a competitive affair – and promises a “a complete, standalone Quidditch experience.”
An FAQ that accompanies the game’s official website sheds a little more light on the project. You’ll be able to customise your Champion, and you’ll be able to play the game solo or in teams. Intriguingly, the FAQ also mentions that you might not just be playing straight games of Quidditch, teasing: “other broomstick adventures alongside friends in a competitive, multiplayer setting.”

You can check the Tweet for a brief trailer here, although it doesn’t show any gameplay yet. Quidditch Champions has apparently been in development for several years at Unbroken Studios, who’s website also lists them as assisting Rocksteady on development of the recently delayed Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League.
Warner Bros note that registration doesn’t guarantee entry, but if you want to try your luck – you can check out more information on the game’s official website. There’s no word yet on exactly when these playtests will kick off either, so keep an eye on those inboxes.
Many fans were asking why Quidditch didn’t seem to be in Hogwarts Legacy – and now it seems we know the reason why. While Harry Potter Quidditch Champions doesn’t have a release date yet, the game will come to PC and “consoles which have not yet been confirmed” at the time of writing. Presumably, we’ll be hearing more in the near future – until then, make sure you know where to find all of the Hogwarts Legacy Demiguise Statue locations hidden throughout the castle.
