Guillermo del Toro, director of Pacific Rim and co-director of the cancelled Silent Hills, has said “F**K KONAMI” shortly after the release of the newest trailer for Hideo Kojima’s upcoming game Death Stranding.

Taking to Twitter this afternoon, del Toro quoted a tweet from The Game Awards featuring a link to the new trailer, before adding the words “F**K KONAMI”. He later tweeted “VIVA KOJIMA” and “Well deserved, Kojima-San! Banzai!” in response to Kojima receiving the award for Industry Icon at last night’s show.

“Konami cancelling SH after PT is one of the most moronic things I’ve ever witnessed,” he added later.

Kojima exited Konami late last year following an alleged dispute between Kojima Productions and Konami. Last night it was reported that Kojima had been separated from the rest of Metal Gear Solid 5’s development team during the final six months of its development.

Del Toro is expected to make a key appearance in Kojima’s upcoming game Death Stranding, alongside Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen and The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus.
