God of War Ragnarok is one of the best games to come out in recent years, and finally fans on PC get to experience its brilliance. It’s an amazing sequel that continues Kratos’ journey through Norse mythology, and it’s more of the first game only bigger, better, and more epic. The release date and time countdown for when God of War Ragnarok will come out on PC for Steam is nearly over, and you can preload ahead of launch to immediately step into Kratos’ heavy boots as soon as possible.
It was confirmed during State of Play that Ragnarok is coming to PC. This will include the full base game along with the free Valhalla DLC that was added for PlayStation users post-launch. Not much is known about the future of Kratos beyond this upcoming port, but Sony Santa Monica’s “exciting new project” has been teased on social media.

God of War Ragnarok PC Steam release date
The PC release date for God of War Ragnarok on Steam is September 19th. This is confirmed by Sony Santa Monica on their official X account.
In our review for the game on PS5, we gave it a perfect 10/10. The story is amazing, there are even more great characters in addition to further development of Kratos, Atreus, and Freya, and the combat is even more stellar. Not to mention the visuals are incredible and the direction is worthy of an Oscar.
Sony’s PlayStation Blog announcement says the PC port has “Unlocked framerates and the option of true 4K resolution”. In addition, “Full integration with NVIDIA RTX Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS), AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), and Intel XeSS (Xe Super Sampling) will allow you to reach higher graphical settings and output resolutions”.
When does God of War Ragnaork come out on PC?
The release time for when God of War Ragnarok will come out on PC for Steam is 8AM PT/11AM ET/4PM BST on September 19th.
All of the above hours are confirmed in a launch schedule map shared by the developer. There’s no early access pre-order incentive, but pre-ordering will allow you to preload and thus play the game as soon as it unlocks.
Alongside Steam, it is also coming out on the Epic Games store where the launch hours are the same.
